Dr. Kemper

We are so proud to have Dr. Kemper as a consultant and close friend to MEVP.  Dr. Kemper and Dr. Martin's relationship goes back over 35 years when Dr. Kemper was a Resident at U.C. Davis and Dr. Martin was a student.  Dr. Kemper mentored Dr. Martin then and continues to mentor and assist MEVP with advanced medical cases.  Dr. Kemper is an icon in Equine Medicine in Southern California.  If you or anyone you know has had a critically ill horse, you most certainly have heard of Dr. Kemper.  She has dedicated her life to the well being of the horse.  Her vast knowledge and caring, compassionate nature make her invaluable to the equine community.

Tina Kemper is one of the few board certified internal medicine specialists working with horses in Southern California.  She obtained diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 1993 after completing a large animal internal medicine residency at the University of California, Davis.  Tina also obtained her DVM degree from UC Davis in 1985 and has a Bachelor's of Science degree in biology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

Tina established her equine internal medicine referral practice in 1993.  She has worked for several equine referral hospitals in Southern California and continues to provide internal medicine consulting services for local equine hospitals as well as field evaluations and telephone consultations with Southern California practitioners.

Tina is a consultant for Veterinary Information Network and also provides equine laboratory consultations for Ethos Diagnostic Lab.  She has served on the Clinical Sites Advisory Board at Western University College of Veterinary Medicine for over 10 years.

Tina has adopted and had the pleasure of caring for multiple horses over the years in additions to seemingly countless other critters.  She has suffered severe herd attrition over time and now only serves one demanding feline named Rupert.

Like most veterinarians Tina enjoys being in the outdoors, usually with animals.  She is extremely close to her family and cherishes her time visiting and making memories with them.

Dr. Kemper provides consultations for all referring veterinarians in Southern California.  Contact our office for information on how to contact Dr. Kemper in the event you need her advanced diagnostic skills.
